“A louse in the academy's skin", Johan Pas, a lecturer at the Antwerp academy, characterized Leendert Van Accoleyen. And then he sighed that the team of teachers delivered him to the professional field with a mixture of pride and relief. Not much later, his work was on display during the arts festival in Aardenburg and at the MuHKA in Antwerp.

Leendert makes sculptures and installations with which he literally and figuratively seeks the higher ground, reaches for the sky. Whether they are constructions of rope, slats and other building materials or a tent resting on fifteen-meter high poles, his work always provides an exciting spectacle.
