Meriton Maloku (°1989) is a Kosovo born Belgian based artist who lives and works in Antwerp. He studied fine arts at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts Antwerp and received a master’s degree in printmaking. His work travels between a shifting constellation of disciplines where he researches how different aspects of daily life, politics, philosophy and art history can be translated into works that explore oppositions such as private and public, presence and absence or comic and tragic. Through strategies of repetition and playfulness he opens up the space between viewer and work. His work has been shown in several exhibitions in galleries and museums in Europe, Asia and US. He is the winner of the Young Artists Award in Kosovo for the year 2017, and the Gjon Mili price 2015 in the National Gallery in Kosovo.
